چکیده

The inactivation of vasopressin by heart as well as skeletal muscle was investigated in in vitro experiments. Heart muscle can inactivate vasopressin while skeletal muscle only binds some vasopressin. The mechanism of vasopres sin inactivation was studied by heat treatment, by determining pH optimum and by time-dependency studies. The inactivation of vasopressin by heart muscle proved to be an active process. The possible role of this phenomenon in coronary vasospasm and in coronary diseases is discussed.

بررسی مقایسه ای اثر وازوپرسین با اپی نفرین در پیامد بیماران ایست قلبی ریوی با ریتم آسیستول

Introduction & Objective: The most persistent rhythm in the treatment of cardiac arrest is asys-tole. In this situation, the survival is rare. The choice is epinephrine, and vasopressin is as an alternative drug. The study purpose is to compare the effects of vasopressin and epinephrine on the outcome of asystole rhythm. Materials & Methods: This clinical trial was performed on 210 patients w...

Effect of Reversible Inactivation of the Kolliker Fuse Nucleus on Basal Blood Pressure and Heart Rate in Anesthetized Rat

Introduction: Several supra spinal areas such as rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) area are involved in basic cardiovascular regulation. The Kolliker— Fuse nucleus (KF) is located in pons and is heavily connected with RVLM. The cardiovascular effect of KF nucleus has been shown and it is suggested that KF is involved in sympathetic vasomotor tone and basic cardiovascular regulation. Therefor...

Application of Western Blotting Technique for Evaluating the Expression of Vasopressin Receptors in the Heart Cells; Importance in the Cardiovascular System

Vasopressin, a posterior pituitary hormone is responsible for water reabsorption by the kidneys and maintenance of cardio-vascular homeostasis. Vasopressin receptors are characterized as VR 1 (V1a), VR2 (V2), and VR3 (V1b). VR1, which is abundant in vascular smooth muscles, causes vasoconstriction by increasing intracellular calcium via the phosphatidylinositol bisphosphonate pathway and a posi...

The effect of nucleus tractus solitarius inactivation on blood pressure in diabetic rats

The role of nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS) in cardiovascular system regulation is controversial. On the other hand, the problem of hypertension in diabetic animals is the subject of many research programs. The aim of present study was to determine whether inactivation of NTS could affect blood pressure and heart rate in diabetic rats. To this end, stereptozotocin induced diabetic rats were an...
